Может кто подскажет. Есть ли возможность ( и если есть то как) узнать прошел ли, была ли вообще и т .д. в свое время у того или иного мерседес по VINу отзывная компания.?

никогда не обращал внимание, а в carfax пишет что-то типа в переводе "авто попадало под отзывную компанию" ... а прошло оно (авто в смысле) и что там за "дефект" требуемый устранения был ... вот в чём вопрос.

Есть ещё и сервисные кампании, которые проводятся при заезде А/М к дилеру. Т. е. если А/М ни разу не заезжал к дилеру, или дилер не нацелен на строгое выполнение сервисной/отзывной кампании, то вы (мы) так и будем ездить на потенциально неисправном (не безопасном для себя и окружающем) автомобиле.
Пример из собственной практики: в конце 90-х на некоторых А/М Nissan был установлен не удачный катализатор, при разрушении которого появлялся существенный износ поршневой группы, те кто был в теме поменяли по сервисной кампании катализаторы или в худшем случае двигатели, а те кто не в теме сделали то же самое за свой счёт.
Звонить к дилеру гарантийщикам не всегда удобно, да и сказать они могут не всё (ребята ушлые), а если бы был открытый портал, где можно было бы забить свой VIN и узнать проводилалась на А/М кампания и при её наличии её суть и какие З/Ч на ней менятся или действия производятся, несомненно, это было бы здорово.

Суть отзывной - "плохо" приварен "замок" прицепного. И как я понял есть реальный риск "оставить" хорошо груженый прицеп на дороге, если не доварить как указано в файле. Больше отзывных по авто не было. Что не может не радовать.
